My twist on the flame claws from Darksiders. I wanted to make a gauntlet-like handheld weapon fired by lava for heavy melee damage, but also served as armour.

The highpoly was sculpted in ZBrush first, then baked down onto the low which was modeled in 3dsMax. Textures were done in Substance Painter on a 4098 x 4096 UV sheet, as were height stamps used for bolts and wiring. Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 4.
